
March 16, New Delhi – The 2026 Paralympic Winter Games concluded with a spectacular closing ceremony that celebrated the spirit and resilience of athletes from around the world.
A record 611 athletes from 55 nations competed in 79 medal events across six sports during the Games.
China topped the medal table with 44 medals, followed by the United States with 24. Russia finished third with 12 medals, while hosts Italy placed fourth with 16.
The closing ceremony featured performances that reflected the determination and unity displayed by athletes throughout the competition.
Themes of human resilience and the ability to overcome obstacles were highlighted through music and dance, echoing the achievements witnessed on ice and snow during the Games.
The next Paralympic Winter Games will be held in the French Alps from March 1, 2030.
