
The Sahitya Akademi announced its annual Sahitya Akademi Awards in 24 Indian languages today. The Akademi has announced the Sahitya Akademi Award 2025 for the renowned writer Mamta Kalia for her memoir, "Jeete Jee Allahabad," and for the renowned diplomat Navtej Sarna for his English novel, "Crimson Spring."
The Ministry of Culture announced that eight poetry books, four novels, six short stories, and two essays have been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2025. In addition, one literary criticism, one autobiography, and two memoirs have also been selected for the award. The Ministry stated that each of the selected awardees will receive a sum of one lakh rupees, along with an engraved copper plaque. The awards will be presented on the 31st of this month in New Delhi.
