Accident Near Agarala Narayana College Blamed on Driver Negligence

Chandragiri, Andhra Pradesh, May 12 — At least 42 passengers sustained injuries after an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus, reportedly overspeeding, crashed into a roadside culvert near Tirupati on Sunday night.

According to police, the bus was on its way to Tirupati when the mishap occurred near Agarala Narayana College in Chandragiri. The accident happened on a straight stretch of road that had no visible engineering flaws.

“It was a straight road with no engineering defect. As per preliminary investigation, the driver was overspeeding and lost control of the vehicle,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police B Prasad. He confirmed that all passengers onboard suffered injuries in the crash.

The impact of the collision caused significant damage, and emergency services rushed to the site shortly after the incident. Authorities have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

The accident has once again highlighted concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of speed regulations, especially for public transport vehicles.
