April 09, New Delhi — Amid the evolving situation in West Asia, the Government of India continues to keep citizens informed through regular updates.

During a media briefing on Thursday, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, announced that 5 kg LPG cylinders are available for migrants and students. Only a valid ID is required, and no address proof is necessary.

Meanwhile, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the External Affairs Minister will pay an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from April 11 to 12, 2026. During the visit, he will meet with the UAE leadership to review close cooperation and further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

However, the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Mukesh Mangal, has confirmed that no incident involving an Indian-flagged vessel has been reported in the past 24 hours.
