
Chandigarh, April 2 The Haryana government has approved ₹37.60 crore for the construction of eight new primary health centres (PHCs) in rural areas, Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said on Thursday.
She said the move is aimed at strengthening healthcare services and improving access for people living in villages.
The PHCs will be set up in Bangaon and Samain in the Fatehabad district; Ladwa in the Hisar district; Girawar and Samar Gopalpur in the Rohtak district; Farmana and Sargathal in the Sonipat district; and Mallekan in the Sirsa district.
Rao said the existing PHC building in Mallekan has been declared unsafe and will be replaced with a new facility with modern amenities. In the other locations, new PHCs will be built for the first time.
The minister said that ₹11.44 crore will be provided under the 15th Finance Commission, while ₹26.16 crore will come from the state budget, bringing the total cost to ₹37.60 crore.
According to the Health Department, the construction work is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months.
