Ahmedabad, March 12 India's fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah said he enjoys taking on responsibility in high-pressure situations and described the T20 World Cup victory as one of the most rewarding of his career.

Bumrah played a crucial role, taking four wickets as India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final to become the only team to win the T20 World Cup three times.

"I don't want to hide behind. I want to be right in the middle of things. I always wanted to do a challenging job," Bumrah said in a video shared by the BCCI after the victory, having been named the Player of the Match.

"I play cricket for that. I started playing cricket for that. When I can make a difference, that gives me so much joy. There's no better feeling than that."

For the pacer born in Gujarat, the victory held added emotional significance as it came at the venue where his cricket journey began.

"I started playing cricket here. I played all my cricket here, rising through the ranks by playing for Gujarat, winning the World Cup here, and being the Player of the Match. The last time we came close, this time we achieved it, and I'm really happy."

Bumrah also spoke about the presence of his family during the title triumph, calling the moment deeply personal.

"My son was there. He was there last time as well; this time he was there too. My mother came, which was really special."

"I don't know about full circles, but I'm really, really happy. It's rare to win back-to-back World Cups. I'm truly grateful that God is kind, and I can't thank him enough."
