
JAMMU, MARCH 31: The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, emphasized that the withdrawal of security from MLAs and party offices is a serious concern and should not be taken lightly, especially in light of the assassination attempt on former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah.
He urged authorities to strictly adhere to established norms, consider genuine threats, and avoid arbitrary decisions. The Speaker emphasized that past incidents should guide present security measures, and that the concerns of the House should be treated with the utmost seriousness.
Several legislators, including Justice Hasnain Masoodi, Nazir Khan Gurezi, and Sajad Gani Lone, also called for immediate intervention on the matter.
