Srinagar, March 27 National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah called on Friday for an end to the conflict in West Asia so that people around the world could live in peace.
"We are in a war situation. We all pray that God ends this war and peace prevails so that we all can live in peace," Abdullah told reporters after offering the Friday congregational prayers at the Hazratbal Shrine here.
He said stopping the war is a matter for "the big powers," and that people can only pray that God somehow resolves the conflict.
In response to a question about Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's appeal in the assembly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use his influence to end the war in the interest of humanity, he said the CM has said the right thing.
