Reasi, February 23: The District Legal Services Authority, Reasi, organized an awareness program at Main Bazaar, Reasi, as part of the "Mediation for Nation 2.0" campaign to promote amicable dispute resolution through mediation and reduce litigation.
Led by Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), the initiative encouraged citizens to choose cost-effective and efficient dispute resolution methods and increased awareness about access to justice.
Additional programs were held at the Mahore Court Complex and other locations to raise awareness about government marriage assistance and welfare schemes, including eligibility criteria and procedures.
At Panchayat Aut Parthal, Katra, PLVs educated senior citizens about their rights under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act and informed them about free legal aid services.
Another session on Lok Adalats was conducted at LAC PS Chassana, Tehsil Mahore, by lawyers and PLVs from the TLSC, Mahore.
