Los Angeles, March 7 Actor Daniel Radcliffe is not particularly enthusiastic about his son following in his footsteps. The actor has stated that he would prefer his son not to pursue acting, despite himself being a former child star.

The 36-year-old star was only 11 years old when he auditioned for the role of 'Harry Potter', and went on to achieve global success thanks to the films, according to 'Female First UK'.

However, he doesn't want his two-year-old son, whom he has with partner Erin Darke, to follow in his parents' footsteps because he believes it would be better for his self-esteem.

When asked if he would like his son to become an actor as well, Daniel said on The View, "I would prefer that he didn't. My partner Erin and I are both actors, so he will see us being passionate and enjoying our work. I feel that a lot of our sense of self-worth is tied to our careers. I would love for him to have a job where his sense of identity and self-worth is not as dependent on it."

According to 'Female First UK', during his appearance on the talk show to promote his show 'The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins', Daniel was visibly embarrassed when they showed one of his early auditions for the role of Harry Potter.

Co-host Sunny Hostin said, "Soon, (your son) will realise that his dad is Harry Potter, because it has been 25 years since you starred in the first Harry Potter movie. You were 11 years old when you auditioned for the role. Of course, this is The View, so we have a clip."

As the footage was shown on a split screen, Daniel could be seen shaking his head and mouthing: "That's not good".

But when it ended, the audience applauded, and Sunny said, "That is so good". Daniel replied, "I disagree, but thank you very much. Now I can look at that and say, it's cute".
