Actress Shares Reflections on Career Challenges and Passions.webp

Mumbai, March 3 – Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, who is eagerly awaiting the release of her upcoming film 'Toxic', has revealed that she reads a lot of books that have nothing to do with her profession.

The actress attended the 'Women of Impact' event, where she spoke about her journey as an actress, her early days, and how she adapted to changing times.

Talking about moments of failure that almost broke her, Huma shared, "There are many. I think your early days when you don't know if the career you've chosen will actually turn out the way you want. Lots of rejections. Many times, I've been removed from films and I find out from the newspapers. No one even has the courtesy to call and say, 'Maybe you haven't made it.'"

She also spoke about her lifelong aspiration to become an actress, saying, "I think I have many interests and passions, but being an actor feels like the perfect culmination of all of them. I am naturally curious about life and people. I read books on a wide range of subjects that have nothing to do with my current profession. I believe acting is the best profession in the world, as it allows me to live many different lives and get paid for it."

Major Swathi Kumar, who also joined the conversation at the 'Women of Impact' stage, represented true female empowerment.

Encouraging young women who aspire to join the military, and elaborating on the military's gender-neutral policy, she said, "In the military, there is no distinction between men and women. It's gender-neutral. And while you are being trained, you are training alongside both men and women because you are training as an officer, and if you are a soldier, you are training as a soldier. After your training, you are commissioned to specific tasks or roles. It's never that because you are a girl, you will be given this particular task."
