New Delhi, April 1 The Rajya Sabha passed a resolution on Wednesday to impose additional excise duty on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), also known as jet fuel.
The resolution was moved in the House by Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, shortly after the session resumed after lunch, and was passed by voice vote.
The resolution stated that the House approved a Central Excise notification dated March 26, 2026, which aims to amend the Eighth Schedule of the Finance Act, 2002, to levy a special additional excise duty on ATF at a rate of Rs 50 per litre.
