
Hainan Island (China), March 6 Indian golfer Aditi Ashok began her week at the Blue Bay LPGA with a round of 4-under 68, placing her in 7th position here.
Ashok started her round on the back nine, making a bogey on the 13th before recovering with a birdie on the 14th.
She also made a birdie on the 18th, closing the back nine with a score of one under par. On the front nine, the 27-year-old made birdies on the third, sixth, and eighth holes, closing the round with a score of 4-under par.
The Blue Bay LPGA is Aditi's first event of the 2026 season, and a strong performance could help her improve her 75th place ranking on the CME rankings in 2025.
Chinese players Mary Liu and Weiwei Zhang, along with Youmin Hwang of South Korea, are currently in the lead after the first round. The three players shot rounds of 6-under 66.
The three leaders began their round on the back nine. Liu and Hwang both had bogey-free rounds with six birdies, while Zhang had one bogey, five birdies, and one eagle in her 6-under par round.
Ruoning Yin, who is currently ranked 10th on the rankings chart, is the top seed this week. The Chinese star is in 7th place after playing a 4-under 68 round on the first day.
