March 10, New Delhi – India’s UN Ambassador, P. Harish, addressed the United Nations Security Council on the situation in Afghanistan.
He strongly criticized what he termed “trade and transit terrorism,” making a veiled reference to Pakistan, and urged the international community to protect the economic rights of landlocked Afghanistan.
The ambassador emphasized that unhindered trade and transit are essential for Afghanistan’s economic recovery, warning that obstructing these channels constitutes economic coercion against a vulnerable, landlocked developing country.
