Union Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dattatraya Vithoba Bharne in New Delhi yesterday. During the meeting, Mr. Chouhan reiterated the Centre's commitment to supporting farmers and strengthening agricultural infrastructure.

Noting the crop damage caused by unseasonal rains in coastal regions, Mr. Chouhan directed officials to ensure that affected farmers receive maximum benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. He also highlighted that a Central team has already visited the state to assess the losses, underscoring the Centre's proactive response.

Emphasizing ongoing agricultural reforms, the Union Minister said that 52 teams have been deployed under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan to address farmers' issues, with regular monitoring of progress. He further urged the state to fully utilize the benefits of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana to boost agricultural growth.

Mr. Chouhan was also briefed on the progress of various Central schemes being implemented in the state during the meeting.
