New Delhi, February 18 India may adopt AI faster than America within ten years, with its young and optimistic population embracing the new wave of technology, said Zoho Corporation Co-founder and Chief Scientist, Sridhar Vembu, on Wednesday.
Just as UPI became widespread in India, AI could also achieve the same, Vembu said while speaking at the AI Impact Summit here.
Citing the example of fiber optics, he said that in the 2000s, American venture capitalists invested "billions of dollars" in telecom companies, particularly in fiber optics, and it is "everywhere in India," but not so in America.
"...in 10 years, India might be faster in terms of AI adoption than even America," Vembu said.
He further explained that this is because "we have a very young and optimistic population. We don't have a population that is very skeptical, which is a blessing."
Unlike the "reluctant crowd," Vembu said that in India, there is a much higher openness to accept and embrace AI.
To be ahead in AI, Vembu urged young entrepreneurs and startups to "optimistically experiment" and keep learning from the challenges.
