February 20, New Delhi – At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, UN Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized that Artificial Intelligence cannot be contained by borders.
He stated that in a world divided by geography, science serves as a shared language—a source of trusted facts, verifiable evidence, and knowledge that can be exchanged across nations.
He urged that with science at the heart of AI governance, countries should not compete to dominate the future, but instead come together to build it collaboratively.
