Air Droppable Container Trials Enhance Naval Response

Air Droppable Container Trials Enhance Naval Response.webp

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy jointly conducted four successful in-flight release trials of the indigenous Air Droppable Container ADC-150 from the P-8I aircraft off the coast of Goa. The trials were conducted between February 21 and March 01, 2026, under various extreme release conditions. Designed and developed to deliver a 150 kg payload, the Air Droppable Container will enhance the naval operational logistics capabilities for providing a quick response to naval vessels in distress, requiring critical supplies, equipment, and medical assistance in the open sea, far from the coast.

In a statement, the Ministry of Defence said that to meet the requirements of the Indian Navy, the ADC-150 system for the P-8I aircraft was developed and qualified in a short timeframe. Having successfully completed all developmental flight trials, the system is expected to be inducted into the Indian Navy soon.
