Air India Leadership Shifts Following CEO Resignation.webp

April 07, New Delhi: Air India's CEO, Campbell Wilson, has resigned from his position, sources have confirmed.

According to sources, Wilson informed the Board of his decision to step down, bringing an end to his tenure that began in July 2022. He took over the Tata Group-owned airline at a crucial time, just months after the Tata Group reacquired Air India from the government in January 2022. During his tenure, Wilson was tasked with steering the airline through an ambitious transformation plan, including fleet expansion and service overhaul.

Wilson had been under pressure since June 12 last year following the crash of the airline's London-bound flight shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport, which resulted in the death of 241 out of the 242 people on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
