
New Delhi, March 8 Air India operated nine flights with all-female crews in the cockpit on Sunday to mark International Women's Day.
The flights connected select international and domestic routes, including London Heathrow, New Delhi, and Mumbai.
Some of these flights were managed by all-female teams, including pilots, cabin crew, crew roster planning analysts, rostering personnel, flight dispatchers, and a meteorologist who planned and monitored flights from departure to arrival. Crew flight controllers were also involved.
According to the release, women constitute almost half of Air India's workforce and account for 16% of the pilots.
