Leh, Feb 18 The Chief of Staff of the Northern Command, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, visited the Air Movement Control Centre and Logistics Hub here on Wednesday, and also reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness in eastern Ladakh, the Army said.

Lt Gen Sharma was on a tour of the Union Territory and met with Ladakh Lt Governor Kavinder Gupta in Leh on Tuesday. He was accompanied by the Commander of the 14 Corps based in Leh, Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla.

"Lt Gen Sharma visited forward posts in eastern Ladakh. The Army Commander reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness and also interacted with the troops," the Northern Command of the Army said in a post on X.

During the interaction, the Chief of Staff commended the troops for their unwavering dedication, high level of readiness, and professional excellence while operating in challenging terrain and extreme climatic conditions, the Army said.

In another post, the Army said the commander visited the Air Movement Control Centre and Logistics Hub in Leh.

He reviewed the advanced logistics facilities that support troops deployed in the remote, high-altitude border areas of eastern Ladakh, it said.

The Army commander appreciated the troops for adopting contemporary material handling techniques that meet the requirements of modern warfare and urged them to continue their dedicated and professional service to enhance operational efficiency, it said.
