
Feb 19, New Delhi: Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that no technology excites him more than artificial intelligence, adding that the world is on the verge of unprecedented progress and new discoveries that can help emerging economies leapfrog development.
He emphasized that AI can solve some of the most challenging problems in science and stressed that the digital divide should not become an AI divide, which requires investment in computing infrastructure and connectivity. Pichai said that artificial intelligence will undoubtedly transform the workforce.
He discussed Google establishing a full-stack AI hub in Visakhapatnam as part of their $15 billion infrastructure investment in India. He also highlighted efforts to build a vast network of undersea fiber optic cables, including four new systems between the US and India. As part of the America-India Connect Initiative, he said that tech companies must step up by creating products that enhance knowledge, creativity, and productivity to help people achieve their dreams.
