Akhnoor: Balloons Carrying Pakistani Rupees and Dollars Recovered.webp

In Jammu and Kashmir, two balloons, each containing a Pakistani 5,000 rupee note and a US dollar, were recovered from a forward village in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu on Monday. According to Akashvani Jammu correspondent, the white and red, aeroplane-shaped balloons were found stuck on a tree in the Gunara village, located in the Khour border area. The balloons, which also included a Pakistani mobile number and a QR code, appeared to have drifted from the Pakistani side across the International Border. While the landing of balloons from Pakistan is a common occurrence in border areas, this is the first time that foreign currency notes have been found attached to them. On Sunday, the BSF seized 16 red balloons that had crossed over from the Pakistani side and landed in the fields in the Ramgarh sector of the Samba district.
