Nagpur, April 1 The ongoing 69th All India Police Duty Meet in Nagpur discussed modern policing and investigative techniques with practical implementation through various programs involving core policing disciplines.
The meet, inaugurated on March 29 and being hosted by the Maharashtra Police, has emerged as a vital national platform showcasing the evolving contours of modern policing.
The event has brought together 1,327 personnel and 144 trained police dogs from 29 states, Union Territories, and Central Armed Police Forces, according to a release issued by the Nagpur Police.
"The event not only embodies the spirit of competition but also reinforces cooperative federalism, as teams from across the country converge to share expertise, benchmark performance, and collectively enhance policing practices," the release stated.
Events conducted on April 1 traversed a broad spectrum of core policing disciplines, including Scientific Aid to Investigation (SAI), computer awareness, police photography and videography, anti-sabotage checks, and dog squad competitions.
Proceedings on April 2 include the collection, packaging, and labeling of exhibits, and the observation test. These exercises are at the heart of evidence-based investigation, requiring participants to demonstrate precision in handling forensic material, maintaining the chain of custody, and interpreting subtle clues, police said.
Police stated that the emphasis on digital awareness reflects the transformation of policing in an increasingly interconnected world.
"The structured, date-wise progression of events from foundational skills on April 1 to advanced investigative techniques on April 2 mirrors the continuum of real-world policing," the release stated.
