Allegations of Chemical Adulteration in Tirupati Laddus

Markapuram (Andhra Pradesh), February 25 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of using "ghee adulterated with chemicals" to produce 20 crore Tirupati laddus.

He also questioned whether God would forgive them for their alleged sacrilege.

Addressing a public meeting in Markapuram, the chief minister alleged that after indulging in this adulteration, the opposition party leaders are defaming Heritage Foods, a dairy company run by his family.

He asserted that Heritage Foods had nothing to do with the Tirupati laddu ghee adulteration.

"Twenty crore laddus were made with ghee adulterated with chemicals. Should God forgive you (previous YSRCP govt)?... After that they are defaming Heritage, which has no connection," Naidu said.

The CM warned that he would not allow the alleged desecration of temples, stressing that he would "expose those "conspiracies.

Referring to the death of YS Vivekananda Reddy in 2019, Naidu alleged that he was also defamed back then as responsible for his murder.

Vivekananda Reddy is the late uncle of YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He was murdered in the run-up to the 2019 general elections.

Further, the CM alleged that the opposition party leaders had abused his mother, wife, and party leaders. He vowed that he would always work for the people of the state.

Accusing the previous YSRCP government of destroying the southern state for five years between 2019 and 2024, Naidu claimed that "people lived in fear" back then.

Observing that the YSRCP is demanding opposition party status in the Assembly, Naidu contended that how it could be given "without people voting for it".

He alleged that YSRCP leaders are "threatening" to grant it opposition status.

Further, Naidu said the Markapuram district was created to avoid the inconvenience of travelling up to 150 km to Ongole earlier for official work.

Similarly, he promised to complete the Veligonda irrigation project as another blessing to the Markapuram district.

Naidu alleged that this project did not progress during the YSRCP regime and noted that it has the potential to irrigate 4.3 lakh acres, including taking water to Kadapa and Badvel.

According to the CM, the Veligonda project requires Rs 9,081 crore, of which Rs 5,451 crore has been spent.

Earlier, Naidu laid the foundation for the Rs 456-crore feeder canal lining works of this project.
