
The fourth edition of Tawi Fest began today at the historic Amar Mahal Palace, with renowned statesman Dr. Karan Singh inaugurating the event. The multi-day festival focuses on environmental sustainability, heritage preservation, and artistic engagement.
Dr. Jyotsna Chauhan, Director of the Amar Mahal Museum and Library, welcomed the guests and outlined the schedule of seminars, exhibitions, and art activities aimed at promoting awareness about culture and the environment.
In his address, Dr. Karan Singh highlighted the rich collection of the palace, including rare books and Kangra miniature paintings, and encouraged scholars and institutions to utilize the Amar Mahal Library for research.
The inaugural session was attended by Principal Secretary Culture B. M. Sharma and other officials, who emphasized the need to integrate environmental protection with heritage conservation.
As part of the festival, an art exhibition and live art camp were also inaugurated at Kala Kendra, featuring works by students of the Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu. The festival will continue over the next few days with seminars, exhibitions, and cultural programs.
