Amaravati, March 10 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Greenfield capital city of Amaravati should showcase the glory of Telugu culture globally, and called for implementing self-financed projects in it.

During the 59th Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting held at the Secretariat, the chief minister reviewed land allocations for institutions and infrastructure development.

"Amaravati should showcase the glory of Telugu culture to the world," Naidu said in an official release, directing officials to develop tourism across 167 acres at Neerukonda in Amaravati.

He instructed officials to design the Neerukonda tourism project as an attractive destination highlighting Telugu heritage and attracting visitors to the capital region.

Naidu also observed that sports will become a major revenue-generating sector in the future and noted that the proposed sports city master plan reflects this vision.

He also suggested selecting a suitable name for the proposed Telugu Cultural Centre (TCC) and called for establishing a large convention centre in the Greenfield capital.

The CRDA approved allocation of 80 cents of land for a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office, three acres for Tulluru educational society and five acres for Andhra Pradesh State Institute of Rural Development (APSIRD).

Administrative approval was also granted for over Rs 2,300 crore for mechanical, electrical and plumbing works in the Secretariat and Head of Department (HOD) towers.
