Amethi (UP), March 20 Lok Sabha MP from Amethi, Kishori Lal Sharma, accused the ruling BJP on Friday of discriminating against his constituency by removing various institutions and efforts to relocate the Army Recruitment Office.
Speaking to journalists on Friday while participating in a camp for the differently-abled people held in Gauriganj, Sharma said that he had already raised this matter in the Parliament.
Sharma said that several institutions, including the Mega Food Park, the National Paper Mill, and the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Information Technology, had previously been shifted out of Amethi.
He said that attempts are now being made to transfer the Army Recruitment Office (ARO) to Ayodhya.
Sharma said that the party is actively opposing this move. In this regard, he has also written a letter to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
He further mentioned that he has raised this issue in the Parliament and intends to meet him soon to demand that this institution remain in Amethi.
The Congress leader emphasised that the Army Recruitment Office (ARO) provides employment opportunities to the youth, enabling them to join the Army and serve the nation.
He vowed to fight for this cause until his last breath, urging both the government and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to ensure that the office remains situated in Amethi.
Responding to remarks made by BJP MP and film actress Kangana Ranaut regarding the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, Sharma said that she needs to understand that politics is not the realm of acting.
It is a distinct arena, and one should enter it only after being well-informed and prepared.
The Congress leader remarked that the entire country is currently grappling with a scarcity of LPG, yet the government does not appear to be taking the matter seriously.
He also extended his greetings to the residents of Amethi on the occasions of Chaitra Navratri and Eid.
