The Jammu & Kashmir Police in Ganderbal has successfully secured a conviction against an accused under Section 355 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) from the Honorable Judicial Magistrate 1st Class (JMIC), Kangan.

Srinagar, February 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ganderbal has successfully secured a conviction against an accused under Section 355 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) from the Honorable Judicial Magistrate 1st Class (JMIC), Kangan.

The accused, Amir Ahmad Beigh, son of Ghulam Rasool Beigh, residing in Thune, Kangan, was found guilty of attempting to disturb public peace and tranquility in the area while under the influence of alcohol.

Taking a reformative approach, the Honorable Court sentenced the accused to perform Community Service for a period of seven (07) days at any institution under the Social Welfare Department, Ganderbal. The case was prosecuted by Prosecuting Officer Ilyas Khawaja.

The police reiterate their commitment to maintaining public order and ensuring peace in the district. Strict legal action will continue against any individual found engaging in activities that disrupt communal harmony or public tranquility.
