
Amit Shah campaigns in Assam, highlighting the infiltration issue
Sonitpur, March 29: Ahead of the Assam Assembly elections scheduled for April 9, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a BJP Vijay Sankalp rally at the Dhekiajuli Tea Garden playground in Sonitpur district today.
Shah campaigned for BJP candidates Ashok Singhal from Dhekiajuli, Ritu Baran Sarmah from Barchala, and Sushri Krishna Saha from Dalgaon. Despite the adverse weather, he attended the rally by road instead of helicopter.
In his address, the Home Minister highlighted that over the past 10 years, the BJP government has worked towards a terror-free and developed Assam. He also reiterated the party’s commitment to making Assam free from illegal infiltration in the next five years. The Home Minister also urged people to vote in favour of the BJP for a developed Assam.
Shah further criticised Pakistan’s anti-India activities, stating that India has given a strong response through actions such as the surgical strikes after the Uri attack and the air strikes following the Pulwama attack. He also spoke about the steps taken by the Central government for Assam’s development over the past decade.
