
New Delhi, April 2 Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that the passage of the Jan Vishwas Bill 2026 in Parliament is a "major step" for India towards making life and business easier.
In a post on X, the home minister said, "By removing several legal provisions, the bill makes Modi Ji's vision of a new India a reality by making life and business simpler for everyone."
On Thursday, Parliament passed the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026, to amend 784 provisions in 79 central laws to decriminalize and rationalize minor offenses, further improving the business environment and preventing harassment.
