Amit Shah addressed a campaign rally in Dudhnoi and Palashbari, promising action against infiltration.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a campaign rally in Dudhnoi, in the Goalpara district of Assam, in support of BJP candidates Tankeshwar Rabha (from the Dudhnoi constituency) and Pabitra Rabha (from the Goalpara West constituency).

Speaking at the public meeting, Shah alleged that the Congress had turned Assam into a hub for infiltrators. He warned that if the party returned to power, infiltration would spread even into tribal areas. Urging voters to elect the BJP for a third term, he said that identified infiltrators would be selectively deported if given five more years.

Shah also called on voters to ensure that all four assembly seats in the Goalpara district go to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He accused the Congress of leaving Assam in a state of unrest and blamed it for the deaths of young people due to political negligence.

Highlighting the BJP government's achievements, he said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Assamese language had been granted classical status. He added that the government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had reclaimed thousands of acres of land from illegal encroachers in the past five years.

Shah further stated that a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) would be introduced in Assam under BJP rule, but clarified that it would not be applicable to tribal communities. He accused the Congress of misleading tribal populations on the issue.

Earlier, Shah's rally in Golakganj had to be cancelled due to technical reasons. He later addressed voters virtually, apologized, and appealed for their support before proceeding to Dudhnoi in Goalpara and Palashbari in Kamrup.

The Union Home Minister is on a two-day visit to Assam, during which he also addressed a rally for an AGP candidate in Kaliabor on Thursday.
