
Amreli (Gujarat), March 22 Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 24 development projects worth Rs 707 crore in Amreli on Sunday, and said the government is committed to providing funds for the district's progress.
CM Patel laid foundation stones for 14 projects worth Rs 681.78 crore, and inaugurated 10 projects worth Rs 25.23 crore at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) here, an official release said.
The chief minister also inaugurated a massive "Virat" shed built at Rs 12 crore to safeguard farmers' produce.
The state government is committed to providing adequate funds for the district's development and stressed the need for planned and quality execution of projects, Patel said.
Around Rs 36,000 crore worth of Memorandums of Understanding were signed for Amreli in the recent Saurashtra Regional Vibrant Summit, along with the approval of a "new GIDC to accelerate industrial growth", he said.
Referring to governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the CM said Gujarat continues to lead in financial management, ensuring that development projects do not face fund shortages.
He also underlined efforts to tackle water scarcity through advance planning and initiatives like rainwater harvesting under the "Catch the Rain" campaign.
Among key projects announced were the Rs 272 crore Radheshyam Machiyala bypass, an overbridge worth Rs 95 crore on Lathi Road, a Rs 35 crore College of Natural Farming, and upcoming science, sports and library facilities aimed at youth development, the release said.
Additional works include water supply projects and infrastructure upgrades across the district, it added.
