New Delhi, April 3 The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has commissioned the largest fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station on the Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor at the Anand Vihar station.

According to a statement, the newly installed facility offers advanced fast-charging services to EV users and is aimed at promoting clean mobility while improving convenience for commuters in the region.

The charging station is equipped with 10 high-voltage charging units, each with a capacity of 480 kW, enabling simultaneous charging of up to 10 vehicles, it said, adding that the system can charge four-wheelers up to around 80 per cent in about 30 minutes.

Charging points for heavy commercial EVs have also been provided.

Users can access the facility through the 'ElectreeFi' mobile application, and the charging process, including slot booking, real-time monitoring and digital payments, is managed through the app after registration, it stated.

It mentioned that with this addition, EV charging services are now available at eight stations on the corridor — Sahibabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, Meerut South and Anand Vihar.

Both fast and standard charging infrastructure have been installed across these locations.

The facility is expected to benefit not only Namo Bharat commuters but also residents in nearby areas, particularly those using private electric vehicles to access the stations. Improved charging access is likely to encourage wider adoption of EVs in the region, the statement read.

The NCRTC said it plans to further expand EV charging infrastructure along the corridor as part of its efforts to support clean energy and sustainable urban transport.
