Ananda Bose Resigns as West Bengal Governor, Cites 'Conscious Decision'

Ananda Bose Resigns as West Bengal Governor, Cites 'Conscious Decision'.webp

Kolkata, March 8 CV Ananda Bose said on Sunday that his resignation as the governor of West Bengal was a "conscious decision" and that the reasons for it would remain confidential until the appropriate time.

Speaking to reporters at the Kolkata airport, Bose said he would return to Bengal to cast his vote.

Bose, who is from Kerala, had shifted his voting base to Bengal just a week before tendering his resignation from office.

"I made a conscious decision to submit my resignation, and the reasons for it will remain confidential until the right time arrives," Bose said.

"The rules of this game include knowing when it ends," he added.

When asked to comment on the concerns expressed by President Droupadi Murmu regarding alleged protocol violations and the deprivation of tribal communities in the state, Bose avoided giving a direct response.

"The President is a very experienced, balanced, and dignified person. She must have had her reasons for saying what she said. However, I am not in a position to comment on what the President said," Bose added.
