
Kolkata, March 9 A fire broke out at a confectionery firm's plant in the Anandpur area of Kolkata on Monday evening, officials said.
Three fire tenders were able to extinguish the flames after over an hour, they said.
The fire erupted around 8:15 pm, and employees present inside the facility were promptly evacuated, fire brigade officials said.
There were no reports of any injuries in the incident. The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit.
In January, a devastating fire at two warehouses storing fast food and other items in the Nazirabad area of the city had claimed several lives.
