Amaravati, March 18 The Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday approved the alienation of over 424 acres of government land in the Kadapa district to facilitate the establishment of an integrated steel plant by JSW Steel, at an outlay of Rs 21 crore.

G Sai Prasad, Special Chief Secretary (FAC), Revenue Department, said that 424.4 acres of land has been formally alienated in the villages of Vemaguntapalli, Sunnapurallapalli, Peddadandluru, Kotha-kuntapalli and Thugutlapalli in the Jammalamadugu mandal of Kadapa district.

"After careful examination, the government hereby orders the alienation of government land to the extent of 424.45 acres…in favor of APIIC (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation) for the establishment of an Integrated Steel Plant by JSW Steel, at a total land cost of Rs 21.3 crore," Prasad stated in a government order (GO).

The proposal to alienate land for the steel plant was presented to the Andhra Pradesh Land Management Authority (APLMA) on February 16, which resolved and recommended its alienation for setting up the industry at a total cost of Rs 21.3 crore, and meeting other conditions.

According to Prasad, JSW Steel will utilize the demarcated land for its intended purpose within three years, and any violation of conditions or failure to utilize the land will lead to the cancellation of the deal.
