New Delhi, March 6: Anuj Agnihotri from Rajasthan has topped the Civil Services Examination 2025, while Rajeshwari Suve M from Tamil Nadu secured the second position in the exam. A total of 958 candidates qualified for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other services, according to an official statement released on Friday.

While Rajeshwari is the highest-ranked female candidate in the CSE 2025, there are two other women in the top 10.

Agnihotri is from the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan and holds an MBBS degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jodhpur. He completed his Class XII from M.B. Public Senior Secondary School in Kota, according to a note shared by a civil services exam coaching institute.

Before securing the second position, Rajeshwari had already topped the TMPSC Group 1 (Deputy Collector) exam.

The third top performer on the list is Akansh Dhull from Chandigarh, who comes from a family of politicians.

In this year's CSE, out of the 958 successful candidates, 317 candidates from the general category qualified for the CSE examination, while 104 candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 306 candidates from Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 73 candidates from Scheduled Tribes (ST) category qualified for the final exam, which consisted of scores from the written examination held in August 2025 and a personality test between December 2025 and February 2026.

The Government has reported a total of 1,087 vacancies to be filled, according to the official statement.

Appointments to the various services will be made based on the number of available vacancies, taking into consideration the provisions outlined in the Examination Rules, adding that the 1,087 vacancies include 180 IAS, 55 IFS, 150 IPS, 507 Central Services Group ‘A’, and 195 Group ‘B’ services.

The list of 1,087 vacancies includes 42 positions for individuals with benchmark disabilities.

In accordance with Rule 20 (4) & (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules 2025, the Commission is maintaining a consolidated Reserve List of 256 candidates. The candidature of 348 recommended candidates has been kept provisional, while the results of two candidates have been withheld, according to the statement.
