Mumbai, February 23 – Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan visited singer Arijit Singh at his hometown in Murshidabad. This comes after the singer announced his retirement from singing for films.
On Monday, the makers of the upcoming film 'Ek Din' shared the film's title track on social media, featuring Singh's voice. The video shows Khan visiting Singh's house. Khan visited Singh on February 3, a few days after Singh announced his retirement from film playback singing.
In the video, Khan asks Singh if he is on a break or if he has quit singing for Hindi cinema, saying, "Don't do that, what will we do?"
Khan travelled to Murshidabad to record the film's title track. He went to meet Singh to persuade him to reconsider his retirement. The speculation ended when Khan shared a poster and thanked Singh for lending his voice to the upcoming film 'Ek Din', starring Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan, produced by Aamir Khan Productions. Khan travelled to Singh's hometown, Murshidabad, and stayed there for four days with Singh and his family, to persuade him to reconsider his retirement and personally request him to sing for the film.
'Ek Din' reunites Aamir Khan with filmmaker Mansoor Khan after a long hiatus, reviving one of Hindi cinema's most cherished creative partnerships. Together, they have gifted audiences unforgettable films like 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar', 'Akele Hum Akele Tum', and 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na'.
Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, 'Ek Din' is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit. The film is set to release in theaters on May 1, 2026.
