In Jammu and Kashmir, the General Officer Commanding in Chief of the Northern Command of the Army, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, visited a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district on Wednesday and reviewed the operational readiness of the troops. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the GOC also praised the troops for their vigilance and for successfully thwarting an infiltration attempt last week. Lieutenant General Sharma visited the Jhangar Battalion after the successful completion of Operation Balliyan, in which the alert troops successfully eliminated the infiltration attempt. While reviewing the security situation, operational readiness, and interactions with all ranks, the Army Commander commended them for their professionalism and unwavering commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the region. On March 10, a heavily armed Pakistani terrorist was killed during an unsuccessful attempt to infiltrate into the Indian side from across the border in the Nowshera sector.
