Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth today assumed the role of Vice Chief of the Army Staff. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla, Pune. He was commissioned into the Armoured Corps in December 1986. He has commanded an Armoured Regiment in the desert sector, an Armoured Brigade in the developed sector, and a Counter Insurgency Force in Jammu and Kashmir. Upon promotion to Lieutenant General, he commanded the Sudarshan Chakra Corps and later served as General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area, where he oversaw major national and international operations.
