Amaravati, March 17 General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Sub Area, Major General Ajay Misra, called on Governor S Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Tuesday.
Misra's visit was aimed at promoting military-civil fusion and enhancing synergy between the state and the Indian Army across key areas.
"GOC Ajay Mishra paid a courtesy call on Naidu at the state secretariat," said a press official release from Eastern Naval Command (ENC).
Misra met with the Governor and discussed nation-building initiatives, community development, disaster management, and security-related matters.
During the meeting, Naidu appreciated the Indian Army's contribution to national security and regional development, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration for future growth.
The discussion centered on enhancing the Indian Army's presence in the state, including a new headquarters in Amaravati and locating forces in the Vijayawada-Guntur cluster, according to the press release.
Misra also met with Industries Minister TG Bharat to discuss support and mentorship for strengthening the defence industrial ecosystem in the southern state.
The GOC held discussions with Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta on security matters and reviewed issues related to the welfare of ex-servicemen.
Later, Misra paid a courtesy call on Chief Secretary G Sai Prasad at the state secretariat and discussed allocation of land for Army-related units and other issues in the state.
The interactions focused on strengthening cooperation and institutional coordination between military and civil authorities in the state, it added.
