Itanagar, March 21 The Indian Army organized a special outreach program at the Tuting Monastery in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, aiming to promote stronger civil-military relations in the border region, officials said.
The event, organized on the occasion of 'International Day of Happiness' on Friday, saw participation from 83 monks.
"The program aimed at fostering peace, mutual understanding, and community bonding between the army and the local population," a defense release said on Saturday.
The celebration began with a traditional prayer ceremony, followed by a series of interactive activities, including fun games and a Buddhism-themed quiz, it said.
The event also provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction between army personnel and the monastic community in an informal and friendly setting, helping to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation in the remote border area, it said.
Officials said the initiative reflects the army's commitment to fostering harmony, supporting local communities, and promoting well-being in border areas of the country.
