
Itanagar/Imphal, March 30 The Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, and Manipur, Y. Khemchand Singh, on Monday expressed their gratitude to the Centre for allocating funds to several northeastern states to accelerate development.
The Union government has allocated Rs 25,000 under the 'Pride of Hills' component of the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme for the financial year 2026-27.
"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our visionary Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi ji, and Union Finance Minister, Smt. @nsitharaman ji, for allocating Rs 25,000 crore under a new SASCI component, 'Pride of Hills', for 9 Himalayan States."
"The allocation of Rs 4,900 crore for Arunachal Pradesh will help us improve fiscal stability and invest further in creating revenue-generating assets," Khandu said in a post on X.
Singh said that the allocation of Rs 2,400 crore for Manipur will "greatly ease financial constraints" and accelerate inclusive growth.
"I am grateful for this continued support for the North East. On behalf of the people of Manipur, I express my sincere gratitude to Hon'ble PM @narendramodi ji and Hon'ble FM @nsitharamanoffc Nirmala Sitharaman ji for introducing the 'Pride of Hills' component under SASCI 2026-27," Singh said.
