Assam Assembly Elections 2026: 776 candidates declared valid after scrutiny
Guwahati, March 25: The scrutiny of nomination papers for the Assam Assembly Elections 2026 was conducted on Tuesday, with verification completed in 124 out of the 126 constituencies.
Scrutiny in the Barpeta and Dhekiajuli constituencies has been postponed until 11 am today.
A total of 776 candidates have been declared valid across the 124 constituencies. A total of 815 candidates had submitted 1,389 nomination papers for the elections.
The Election Commission has stated that candidates may withdraw their nominations by 3 pm on March 26.
