Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence today that the Bharatiya Janata Party will form the government in Assam for a third consecutive term.

Addressing an election rally in Barpeta, Assam, Mr. Modi said the party's commitment is to develop and make the country self-reliant. He stated that the past ten years have been marked by peace and prosperity in Assam. He described it as a decade that helped the state overcome challenges related to inconvenience and insecurity. He said that the coming years will further enhance Assam's prosperity and strengthen its journey towards self-reliance.

Highlighting infrastructure development in Assam, the Prime Minister said improved connectivity in the state is positively impacting the tourism sector, benefiting the overall economy. Mr. Modi alleged that the Congress has never had a long-term vision for development, and instead focused on short-term measures for political gains. He said that the BJP is working with a long-term roadmap to achieve the goal of a developed Assam as part of a developed India. Mr. Modi is scheduled to address two more election rallies in the state later today.
