Assam Elections: BJP Highlights Development vs. Previous Congress Rule

Assam Elections: BJP Highlights Development vs. Previous Congress Rule.webp

Kamalpur (Assam), April 3 BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Friday alleged that the Congress worked in favour of infiltrators, and voters in Assam should remember the opposition party's tenure when casting their votes in the upcoming assembly elections.

Addressing a campaign rally here in support of party candidate Diganta Kalita for the Kamalpur constituency, he asserted that the NDA government, led by the BJP, will achieve a hat-trick by forming the third consecutive government under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

"The Congress government opened the doors for infiltrators for vote bank politics. During their tenure, women and land were not safe," Nabin said.

The BJP government, chosen by the people of Assam, showed a way out for infiltrators and initiated a series of development projects, he claimed.

"The last 10 years were a period of development in Assam. When you go to vote, you must remember the period before that," the BJP chief said.

He expressed confidence that the incumbent BJP government will return to power under Sarma's leadership in Assam and achieve a hat-trick.

Nabin said that he has been visiting Assam since 2009-10 for various party activities and has extensively travelled across the state.

"At that time, there was no talk of development at all. There were tensions when I wanted to travel from one place to another. People only talked about violence and protests," he claimed.
