Congress announces its first list of candidates for the Assembly elections
The Congress party in Assam has announced its first list of candidates for 42 Assembly constituencies.
Key candidates include: Gaurav Gogoi will contest from Jorhat, Abdus Sobhan Ali Sarkar will contest from Gauripur, Markline Marak has been nominated from Goalpara West, Girish Barua from Bongaigaon, Mahananda Sarkar from Barpeta, Nandita Das from Hajo–Sualkuchi, and Mira Borthakur will contest from Dispur.
