
Candidates filed their nominations in Cachar; BJP held a ‘Manonayan Sabha’
In Assam's Cachar district, candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Asom Gana Parishad, and All India Trinamool Congress filed nominations for seven constituencies.
Candidates submitted their nomination papers at the district office amidst large rallies and strong displays of support. Workers and supporters of the BJP and Congress organized massive processions.
Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia attended a 'Manonayan Sabha' at the Silchar District Sports Association ground before leading a rally to the district office.
Among the BJP candidates who filed nominations are Rajdeep Roy (from Silchar), Rajdeep Goala (Udharbond), Kaushik Rai (Lakhipur), Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha (Katigorah), Kishore Nath (Borkhola), and Amiya Kanti Das (Dholai).
AGP candidate Karim Uddin Barbhuiya from Sonai also filed his nomination.
Congress candidates organized a rally from Indira Bhawan on Park Road and submitted their nomination papers at the Cachar Deputy Commissioners office. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress candidates filed nominations from Udharbond, Sonai, and Katigorah constituencies.
