The Assam Legislative Assembly's budget session has commenced. The session began with the Governor's address.
Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya addressed the Assembly and formally inaugurated the session. He began his speech in Assamese, paying tribute to Srimanta Sankardev and Sri Sri Madhavdev.
In his address, the Governor highlighted the development work undertaken by the state government. He stated that the government is continuing Assam's progress, inspired by the ideals of cultural icon Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.
